My approach.
-
I’ll be an active participant in your therapy, walking alongside you every step of they way. I’ll meet you where you are and you’ll set the pace, the tone and the direction of travel. Our sessions will range from lively experiences fuelled by dynamic exercises to moving experiences as we face previously unbearable feelings, together.
-
My intensive and rigorous training enables me to work at depth, probing beneath the surface to uncover unconscious and hidden beliefs, ideas or fears that get in the way of your happiness and wellbeing.
-
I focus on the whole person - mind, body and spirit. I offer practical techniques that help to regulate the nervous system which in turn helps to manage anxiety, feelings of overwhelm and dysregulation.
-
I use creative methods in my practice such as visualisations, metaphor, storytelling and movement to help clients explore their feelings and gain new perspectives. These approaches provide a safe space for expression, unlocking deeper insights and emotional growth.
-
I have significance experience of working with individuals with ADHD and Autism. I recognise neurodivergent ways of thinking, feeling, and communicating as meaningful expressions of a person’s unique mind, and I seek to adapt the therapeutic space to honour each client’s sensory needs, processing styles and ways of being.
About me.
I am an experienced and qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, registered with the BACP.
In addition to my private practice, I work as a counsellor in a university setting, supporting students with anxiety, depression, self esteem, and identity related challenges.
Alongside my therapeutic work, I coach creatives, leaders, and change-makers across the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. My clients have included organisations such as the BBC, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the Royal Navy, as well as numerous arts organisations. I also coach young men in prisons across London.
Earlier in my career, I worked in the arts, developing and delivering arts led community engagement projects. My professional career has shaped my understanding of how social, cultural, and systemic factors influence our personal wellbeing.
Qualifications.
I trained in Psychotherapeutic Counselling at Brighton University, completing a highly regarded programme and earning a PGDip in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. This training meets the exacting standards of the BACP, ensuring a strong foundation in professional, ethical practice.
I am also a qualified Co-Active Life Coach and Climate Change Coach.
I am also a Chaoyi Fanhuan Qigong level 1 instructor and have maintained a daily chi gong practice for the past 12 years.
We might work well together if…
You feel ready to commit to therapy and dedicate time to exploring yourself and your lived experiences.
You’ve tried other approaches but are still struggling, and want to explore deeper patterns and underlying causes
You are looking for a therapist who is trained to work at depth with unconscious material.
You are curious and open to the ways in which therapy can support you in your life.
I’m probably not the therapist for you if…
You are looking for a quick fix or immediate solutions (I get it, therapy can be challenging).
You are hoping for advice or direction rather than a collaborative, reflective approach (in which case a mentor might be what you are looking for).
You are not ready or able to commit to the therapeutic process (I completely understand, therapy is a big commitment).
You prefer a highly structured approach rather than a exploratory approach (in which case CBT might be a better option for you).
We might be a great fit if you…
Care deeply about social and environmental justice.
Are looking for a therapist that works creatively and holistically
Find solace and peace in a regular yoga or meditation practice.
Are drawn to therapy that honours both your inner world and the wider systems you move through.
Value self-reflection and are curious about your emotional landscape and what it’s trying to tell you.
I warmly invite you to book a free 50 minute consultation.
Research shows that a strong, trusting relationship between therapist and client is essential for effective therapy.
This is why I offer a free 50-minute confidential consultation for us to connect and see if working together feels like the right fit. My goal is to provide a safe, empathetic space where you can feel supported in working out your next steps.
I look forward to hearing from you.
